TMTA sponsors workshops and master classes presented by respected clinicians. Master class opportunities in conjunction with Arizona Friends of Chamber Music are available. Informative programs are presented at General Meetings. State and National Conferences are held annually with presentations from internationally recognized artists and clinicians.
Arizona Study Program is a 12-year graded course of study developed by the Arizona State Music Teachers Association which provides for the detailed development of music theory, piano technique and musical performances of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic and Modern music. Study and preparation continue throughout the year. In the springtime a student completes a written theory test and a master adjudicator listens to each student’s required technique and performance pieces. The adjudicator then writes down helpful feedback for the teacher. Awards, certificates and ribbons are presented to each student based on the results accomplished.
